Deepgate Diving Company went on sale here on October 17 as 1.0 Early Access. This is the devlog: dated notes on what changed in the game and what is being built next, so you can follow along between updates.
What 1.0 Early Access is
A full game already, and still being built. In the dock you put a submersible together from sixty parts with honest numbers on them. On the board are 110 jobs across eighteen lines of work, from 8 m down to the deepest trench. You run a salvage outfit with six named crew and a closed roster, so a lost boat takes its crew with it. There is FREE DIVE with nothing at stake, two CHALLENGE courses, divers over the side in five kits, TRAINING with the mate, and a separate VR build for Meta Quest 3 on Link.
The night before launch, the whole game went through a pass against one bar: a stranger plays for two hours and never hits something broken, never gets lost, and never sees something rough. Saves got safety nets, every key and controller button can be rebound without losing a way out, and every hint names your own binding.
New in 1.0.1
- The BLACK BOX plate takes a click. At the end of a dive the record card offers a BLACK BOX REPLAY of what just happened. In 1.0 the mouse pointer stayed hidden, so there was nothing to click it with. Now the pointer comes out while the card is up, the plate lights under it, and a left click opens the replay.
- The version on the title screen reads 1.0.1, so a problem report (F8) says which build it came from.
Getting the update
Open your order page again (the link is in your order email, or use Get your download) and download the 1.0.1 installer for Windows or VR. Run it over the top of the game you have: it updates in place, and your companies and saves stay where they are.
What's next
Early Access updates will keep coming: fixes first, wherever you find something rough, and then more to build with and more places to dive. Each update gets a post here saying what changed.

Found something broken? Press F8 in the game: it makes a folder with a screenshot, the log and your note, kept on your own machine. Send it, or just a few lines, to [email protected].
